Josh Gordon Reinstated
Gotta love second chances, am I right? The talented but problematic receiver for the Cleveland Browns, Josh Gordon was just conditionally reinstated to the NFL. No, he will not be playing week 9 so don't worry no need to watch the Browns just yet. Gordon, a young stud, showed the world what he had right out of the gate. His rookie year he had 50 catches for 805 yards and 5 touchdowns in 16 games. That right there is a successful rookie campaign. Not only did the Browns draft Gordon in the 2012 Supplemental Draft, but they gave him a chance at a career he never thought he'd have as an NFL player.
Going into his second season he was suspended 3 games for violating league substance abuse policy. Another bump in the road for Gordon who was kicked out of Baylor for violating team rules. Obviously a typical player would come back and wouldn't be anything special. But that's just it, Gordon isn't a typical player. Over the course of the 2013 season, Gordon had 87 catches for an astonishing 1646 and 9 touchdowns with his longest catch of his career at 95 yards. What was this man and how was he doing this? Especially on the BROWNS....
The sky is the limit for Gordon after a Pro Bowl sophomore year, correct? Nope. He would only go on to play 5 games for the next season after being suspended again. After this the league took action and suspended him indefinitely. His last game played was December 14th, 2014. Now come back to today, November 1st, 2017. Josh Gordon got reinstated into the NFL on a conditional basis. This allows him to practice on November 20th and be eligible to be on a 53- man roster November 27th. What's next for Josh Gordon you may ask? Well let's leave that to Hue Jackson and DeShone Kizer to decided.
If Gordon can stay out of trouble, he is easily a top talent in the league. The potential is certainly still there for the 26 year old wideout.
